The staff at CWE have rallied together this week in a bake sale organised by cleaner, Sonya Maxwell that surpassed all expectations.
Sonya brought in an array of tasty baked goods, from colourful cupcakes to melt in the mouth savory snacks, raising a remarkable £620 for the Children’s Cancer Trust Charity.
The generous donations from staff on site surpassed her target by the end of the week, and Sonya plans to do more to help make a difference.
“It’s incredible to see how everyone has come together for this cause,” Sonya said. “I sadly lost both my sister and my niece to the horrible disease, they both suffered with breast cancer at a very young age, so I wanted to do my bit. I think it is important to help as much as you can to help those that are going through the same thing, and it’s heartwarming and uplifting to witness the response from my colleagues at CWE.”
The success of the bake sale has left a lasting impact at CWE, reinforcing the idea that even small acts of kindness can make a significant difference.
