Something that we’ve already been working on at CWE is the plan to create a community for rail professionals in Doncaster. Allowing our region to have a community where people can engage and build valuable connections in our industry is incredibly important to us. We held our first networking event in September, and we plan to continue putting them on to create that community spirit among the rail industry in Doncaster to help strengthen the local sector. As part of our growth strategy, CWE partnered with MCL Rail, an independent, family run company dedicated to providing the highest quality rail storage solutions across the UK. Our wagon general repair work is being carried out at MCL’s Gascoigne Wood site in North Yorkshire. Services we are working together to provide include shotblasting, painting, and repairs and refurbishment projects. In the new year we hope to continue to develop our work with wagon general repairs at the Gascoigne Wood site.

We are committed to ongoing interaction and education with local youth, enhancing their understanding of working within the rail sector- especially with regard to the specialised services we offer. We plan to do this by continuing to attend local career fairs and doing school/ college visits. At CWE we take on two new apprentices each year, to ensure we keep a fresh outlook, perspective and attitude.

Additionally, none of our achievements would have been possible this year without the dedication and hard work of our amazing team.

Here’s to another year of success and growth in 2024!
